Welcome! You made it to Onie’s Place! My name is Vanessa. I’m a retired National Board Certified Art Teacher and Art Maker turned Entrepreneur – and, Yes! I still make art. On the best days, you’ll find me sipping whiskey on a mountain patio after a long hike, sharing laughs with friends, the dogs at our feet, maybe a moose walks by… My teaching passion runs deep. I worked tirelessly to support students who managed mental illness in the art room to create *AmaZeBalls* work, and at the state and national levels to advance arts education. As my passions evolve alongside a new season of life, Onie’s Place is my long-time vision to bring the best of everything outdoors to women. It embodies my enduring connection with the heart and soul of my grandmothers Onie and Esther. Embracing their spirit of adventure and vitality, Onie’s Place channels their legacy of strength and lives lived in their own commanding avant-garde lady style.

When I think of life as an adventure, shopping doesn’t necessarily come to mind. But, I know what I want. My online shopping experiences generally include finding fantastically designed stores geared specifically to men. I think, “Us ladies like this stuff too. And, we want more of it.
